T7Design Capillary Tube Thermostat

This capillary tube thermostat is a dual function thermostat, it can operate as an anti-freezing thermostat and as a cabin thermostat.

As an anti freezing thermostat it is designed to protect the evaporator core from freezing. This is achieved by the thermostat checking the temperature of the evaporator core and preventing the temperature from falling below a set safety value.

In this application, if the temperature falls below the set value of -1°C, the thermostat will interrupt the signal to the compressor allowing the temperature of the evaporator core to raise above the set value of 7°C. Once the temperature of the core has increased above 7°C, the thermostat will close the circuit to the compressor and the Air Conditioning system will become active.

The thermostat can also operate as a cabin thermostat with a temperature differential of 8°C, allowing a set temperature range between 0°C to 8°C and 9°C to 17°C. The temperature range can be adjusted via the D shaft found on the face of the thermostat, and is compatible with the Knobs found in our range of electrical switches.
